Over the weekend we got so much accomplished to finish up before winter comes. It happened that a warm front is passing through so we were thinking about the coming winter on an almost 80 degree day. I am incredibly happy to have both the horses home on the farm with us. Ace is also incredibly happy supervising my chores. He follows me to the sheep pasture and watches while I do their chores, he watches me clean the stalls, fill buckets and pass out hay. I missed my horse horribly bad after we moved to the farm and he was still boarding an hour away, there was no need apparently to worry about our bond though….
I thought that my husband’s workshop needed a nice barn square to have on it. It took me about two weeks to paint this carpenters square for his barn and I am extremely pleased with how it turned out! Next year we plan to paint his shop barn red which will really make this barn square pop.

Since returning from vacation in florida we have been busy packing and preparing to move in less than 30 days. We have been anxiously awaiting moving day and it is defiantly fast approaching. There are still many decisions left to be made and plans still to firm up. We still need to find and buy a lawn mower as well as an actual tractor for the farm. We have all had those days when we don’t want to cook or we aren’t feeling well. I try to cook enormous amounts of food that freezes or cans well when I can: chicken, turkey, burgers, chicken stock, chili and anything else I can preserve well.
