From a lamb’s point of view…

Ewestace wants you all to know she is super excited fall is here and the leaves are starting to change. She is not however excited that means the border collie comes to visit her more often to move the sheep.  Ewestace just doesn’t understand why the border collie feels the need to keep moving them all over the pasture … Silly dog.

Sheep cam

We put the camera on Ewestace last night while Gus was working the sheep, she was such a good little sheep.  She stood very still while I put the camera on her and didn’t seem to mind it at all.  All the other sheep were very interested in Ewestace’s new accessories and here is that video.  Stay tuned for videos from Ewestace of Gus working!

Lambless

Well it finally happened my girls went back to he farm until we move. Ewestace and Lamb Chop were getting big and we leave Tuesday for Florida. Jeff and I decided it be easiest if they went back now. I am sure hey will be fine but I got aweful E attached to having my little lambs in the garage.

Good Things

Lots of exciting things happening today at Cacia Farms!  We accepted an offer on our house, this means I don’t have to wake up every morning and coral kitties.  Tomorrow we have the inspection on the future bigger home of Cacia Farms.  We will also have an opportunity to take pictures of the house as well as look more closely at the pastures.  Lastly, Ewestace was joined today by another bottle lamb whose mother didn’t want her.  My husband got to name this one and he chose to call her Lamb Chop.  Ewestace was extremely excited to have another lamb to play with.

Farmer’s Bucket list

As my husband and I have been looking for a farm we have been discussing what each of us wants the farm to be.  I have realized that I have many big dreams and quite a lot of things to do before I die.  My friends sheep had lambs this week and I agreed to watch a bottle lamb, this has been something I have always wanted to do.  This made me realize that I have many things on my bucket list that might be a bit different than most people.  We will have to see what else I can accomplish once we move to the farm!

The sun will come out!

I got to visit my bunnies this weekend at the farm.  The babies are getting very big and annabelle loves all the hay she is getting.  Sly is super happy all the time as long as he can see the other buns.  I think Sly has also made friends with the ducks as well.  Pete however is completely unimpressed with the farm, the ducks and living outside.  I will probably bring dixie and her growing babies out to the farm and bring my Pete home, as I don’t think he is enjoying his stay at the farm.  I also got to see the new lambs at the farm.  They are adorable and there moms were extremely angry at us for snatching them to snuggle.  I love the sheep and very much enjoy seeing them move.  Since we had left all the dogs at home when we left (we went to an open house at a farm on a farm on the way), when we let the rest of the sheep out we didn’t notice that one of the ewes had twine wrapped around its body.  We walked all the way out to the farthest corner of the field to bring the sheep back in to remove it.  I kept joking with Amanda that I would make an excellent herding dog.  I am very excited to get to move to the farm (once we finally find one).  It will be wonderful to have Ace at home, my bunnies at home, and some sheep for Gus to herd and me to snuggle.  I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well!IMG_3339
