I have so many pictures of Ace in my phone and I love them all.  If anyone else looked through my photos they might wonder since they are all variations of the same photo.  I have pictures of Ace eating grass, Ace in the crosswise, Ace’s pretty neck while riding, Ace all saddled up but by far my favorite photos are the big white blurry photos of his nose.  Ace has always been a nosy horse and very much likes…

Feels Like Home To Me

Feels Like Home To Me

Growing up I loved going to visit my family in Oklahoma!  I was most definitely an outdoor kid and loved the time I spent on my grandparents farm.  There was always a certain way that their farmhouse sounded, smelled and felt when I was there.  I moved a lot as a kid and after graduating college I moved back home to Oklahoma.  I will always associate Oklahoma as my home even though I grew up in several states.  Growing up…

Princess Paws

Princess Paws

This post comes from the desk of Olive, she wanted you all to know Gus’s true colors! Well fall has arrived here in New York very cold (did I mention I come from Georgia) and now it is also raining.  Any good southern girl can appreciate a good mud pile and I am no different.  Thursday it started raining and man did I love splashing in the puddles, but by midday Friday those puddles have turned muddy.  This is Saturday…

This means war…

Every morning I walk down the hill and am greeted by two of the most wonderful horses I could ask for.  Badger usually nickers his hello while Ace screams like an idiot.  Ace gets to wait in his stall in the morning while Badger helps me count scoops to ensure that I correctly count everyones breakfast.  After everyone is all snug eating their breakfast I usually sit in the tack room on the stacked pine shaving bales while the horse…

Clean and Dry

Clean and Dry

Yesterday my husband made our sheep a hay manger for their hay to be in so it is off the ground and dry.  I can’t tell you how nice it is to have a husband that is handy and can build things for me when I need him to.  My sheep will stay clean and dry this winter and so will their hay, this will make me and Purdy happy campers this winter!

Carpenters Sqaure

Carpenters Sqaure

I thought that my husband’s workshop needed a nice barn square to have on it.  It took me about two weeks to paint this carpenters square for his barn and I am extremely pleased with how it turned out!  Next year we plan to paint his shop barn red which will really make this barn square pop.

Looks can be deceiving

Looks can be deceiving

I may look like an adult who is all grown up but in reality I might just be a little girl at heart whose dreams have come true.  Growing up I asked for a horse again and again.  At christmas I always joked when guessing what my presents were that it would be a pony.  I dreamed of having a beautiful farm with a border collie and some sheep.  Well I did get my farm, dog, sheep, and horses and…

She is not however excited that means the border collie comes to visit her more often to move the sheep.  Ewestace just doesn’t understand why the border collie feels the need to keep moving them all over the pasture … Silly dog.
