Farm update

Farm update

I thought I would give a general update on the farm for everyone today.  Lola the pig and I have come to an understanding, which is Lola isn’t allowed to taste me or eat me when I go into her enclosure and I will continue to feed her.  Instead of charging me and trying to taste me she now will stand on the other side of her pen while I feed her and change her water.  I know this is…

Sadly he has no thumbs…

The most useful farm tool that I have is by far our Border Collie Gus, he proves to be helpful more than I can count.  I know that if the sheep we’re to get out that I wouldn’t have to much trouble getting them back with Gus’s help (Purdy is another story) which is a load off my mind.  This morning when I went down to do morning chores I saw that Jenny one of the brown spotted ewes had…

Purdy

Purdy

Purdy our guard llama has been here about a week now and I couldn’t be more pleased with her!  She bonded very quickly with her sheep especially Ewestace, they all sleep together in the shelter at night even though I no longer shut them in.  Every time I go down to give Purdy her breakfast or dinner she always comes right over to the fence as I am walking down to make sure it isn’t a threat to her sheep….

Between Midnight and Three AM

Between Midnight and Three AM

Since returning from vacation in florida we have been busy packing and preparing to move in less than 30 days.  We have been anxiously awaiting moving day and it is defiantly fast approaching.  There are still many decisions left to be made and plans still to firm up.  We still need to find and buy a lawn mower as well as an actual tractor for the farm.  All of the fencing will need to be installed right after we close…
