We bought a miniature horse this year and man did I not fully understand the amount of hair involved in owning a mini. He is solid fluffy hair his mane and tail are THICK and long and really unruly. Shortly after we bought him I ended up shaving him because he seemed to be so hot and uncomfortable and itchy. I bought him a new harness this spring and when I measured him apparently I did not account for the added winter fluff or the fact that he is a mini and can look at grass and get fat. We are a diet now and back to work for him five days a week so we can get him to slim down some before we have to start rolling him outside in the morning. I did find a product that helps when trying to brush out the Fabio tail and makes it so much easire you can find it here on amazon. Makes the mane and tail silky smooth and easy to brush so no breakage or damage!
